Condoleezza Rice And Meghan McCain Win the 2nd Amendment Debate

Condoleezza Rice And Meghan McCain Win the 2nd Amendment Debate on The View.
I can’t believe I actually agree with Meghan McCain for once! Has hell frozen over?
Condolezza Rice shocks all the normal liberal audience at the view with her childhood story about guns.

“Let me tell you why I’m a defender of the Second Amendment,” she began.

“I was a little girl growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, in the late fifties, early sixties,” she explained. “There was no way that Bull Connor and the Birmingham Police were going to protect you.”

“And so when White Knight Riders would come through our neighborhood,” she said, “my father and his friends would take their guns and they’d go to the head of the neighborhood, it’s a little cul-de-sac and they would fire in the air, if anybody came through.”

“I don’t think they actually ever hit anybody,” she continued. “But they protected the neighborhood. And I’m sure if Bull Connor had known where those guns were he would have rounded them up.”

“And so, I don’t favor some things like gun registration,” she said to a suddenly silent crowd.

“That said, it’s time to have a national conversation about how we can deal with the problems we have. It’s not going to be any single fix to the terrible events at Parkland,” she concluded.

I like Condi’s story of her dad and his friends when she was growing up in Alabama.

She is dead wrong to state that civilians “have access to what are really military weapons”. She needs to educate herself and perhaps go to a range with someone who owns and uses an AR-15 rifle. She is showing a great deal of ignorance here, sadly, and using the language of the Left. The Left is using scary words to describe semi-automatic weapons in order to demonize them in hopes of changing public opinion in order to erode rights protected by the Second Amendment. I’m not impressed.

    • I completely agree with you Char. That’s why I actually agreed more with McCain. And I almost NEVER agree with her. She is such a rino. I am disappointed in the Florida GOP as well. They caved to the demands of the Left. Do you notice how it never goes the other way? The Democrats never cave under pressure from us. It’s consistently the Republicans who back down from a fight. I don’t agree with raising the age limit to 21. Why should innocent people aged 18-20 be punished? I have had it with the media demonizing the Ar-15 also. It’s a slippery slope. Handguns kill more people. They go after rifles because more citizens own rifles. The Left is so good at creating these make believe words and terms like “dreamers” and “assault rifles” to paint a picture that suits their narrative. It is all a phony persuasion technique.

I love it when you stop by Char. We think so much alike, except you are smarter. 🙂

Yes, Meghan McCain is definitely a rino. I find her sometimes likeable, for I think she speaks her mind even though I disagree with what she says.

The GOP in Florida is spineless, just like in so many other places in this country. Raising the age to 21 years in order to purchase a gun is a bad idea and like you said, will punish those who are responsible that happen to be younger. What about the military members who aren’t yet 21? Stupid Band-Aid idea meant to appease and it will create more problems and solve nothing.

I agree with you too, Alexis, on so much. Except that last sentence. You are definitely wrong there – you are definitely leaps ahead of me in the intelligence department! 🙂

      • Good point about the military.
You and I can be members of the mutual admiration society. lol. 🙂
