Alexis, great to see someone so interested and supportive of an Article V convention. I am an American that is OUT-OF-THE-BOX of partisanship. People from the left view me as conservative, conservatives view me as liberal. Really dumb. I’m a constitutionalist.
A video I edited for a friend that attended a Harvard conference on Article V. http://vimeo.com/31464745
Since that time I’ve realized that almost no one has a handle on “constitutional intent”. I’ve become aware, and understand Lincolns 1859 statement in Illinois, ‘the people are the rightful masters of the congress and the courts”. Of course, if Americans do not have a grasp of constitutional intent, the people will not be the masters. It could go bad.
The notion of NOT preparing the people for the nations most important political event, EVER, since 1787, is absurd. I mean ABSURD. Please consider that, and, exactly what “preparation” would be. I’ve done so and see that “Preparatory Amendment” is the only way to assure the people of nation are prepared to be the “rightful masters” and be democratically involved as the phrase “the people” implies. I would like to write perspective on your Article V series for this concept. Consider, “shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution” is the only real limit the constitution applies and Americans have no basic handle on that intent.
