Mark Levin & The Constitutional Resurgence

Mark Levin & The Constitutional Resurgence

We lost the election in November because the GOP failed to see the tyranny going on in this country and they gave up on the Judeo-Christian values that this nation was founded on. Conservatism is the answer to the question the Republican establishment keeps asking about what is needed to align the party with the will of the people. Yet it’s the one answer they are unwilling to accept. They overlook the obvious when seeking why the party lost in 2012. Establishment Republicans, also known as r.i.n.o.s,  want to re-brand the Republican Party by surrendering our principles. These moderate Republicans want us to abandon our religious freedoms through Obamacare which forces businesses and organizations to pay for abortions and birth control and similarly abandon our second amendment rights with insane new gun laws. These same Republicans want to make the party become pro-choice, pro-amnesty, pro-gay marriage and pro tax the so- called- rich: in other words they want us to become Democrats. How do Republicans win again? What message will reach the modern American people? What the moderates continuously fail to see is the solution needs a philosophical base.

Preeminent constitutional scholar, best selling author and talk show host, Mark Levin says “Conservatism is the antidote to tyranny.” Mark Levin’s books about judicial activism, liberty and conservatism are eloquent, artistic, literary masterpieces that started an intellectual movement all across our nation. His writings played a significant role in winning the House of Representatives back in 2010. There is a reason why he is called The Great One. Levin is a contemporary Shakespeare whose books should be left out on your desk like your Bible, dictionary, thesaurus or Constitution. They should be a reference that should be looked at time and time again if not daily.

Mark Levin’s radio show is equally brilliant as he fearlessly faces the enemies of liberty head on. The airwaves broadcast poetic creative genius combined with solid logic and reason about what Levin calls the post constitutional America. Mark Levin uses his show to dissect history and philosophy. He takes the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Madison’s notes from the Constitutional Convention and ties it in to current events in a way that has never been done before. Then he packages all of this in a fun way with his own unique wit and charm. When Levin reads to us about Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Hamilton, Franklin, Adams, and the others, he does it in a way that paints a vivid picture so that in the audience’s imagination one is transported to Independence Hall in the late 1700’s. You can almost smell and feel the air in the room and hear the voices back at the Constitutional Convention when he speaks about these matters and brings them to life.

Mark has a unique relationship with what he calls his “beloved audience.” It reminds me of the relationship President Reagan had with the American people. His audience absolutely treasures him. I have seen many other moderate Republican authors try to unsuccessfully duplicate this relationship with their readers and become angry and jealous when they don’t achieve it. [Cough, David Frum, Cough] What they don’t understand is that they don’t have Mark Levin’s heart. One only needs to read Rescuing Sprite or listen to one episode of his radio show to see how much love and loyalty Mr. Levin shows to his family, his friends, his fans, his pets and his country. I greatly admire and respect this man. I truly believe that history looking back on these years will reflect that Mark Levin played a crucial role in saving this great nation through educating and rallying the citizens the way Thomas Paine inspired Americans during the beginning of the revolution. Personally, I was crushed and in tears on election night when Obama won. I couldn’t have made it through the last few months without the comfort of this show and I know I’m not alone. For so many he is a daily source for wisdom, guidance and counsel, a source for hope and inspiration in these dark days that haunt us.

And It doesn’t stop there. Mark Levin is also president of Landmark Legal Foundation, a tax exempt organization that fights to preserve constitutional principles. Landmark is a watchdog going after the NEA the EPA and other big government organizations. On January 25, 2013 A federal appeals court ruled that President Obama violated the Constitution when he bypassed the Senate to fill vacancies on the National Labor Relations Board. Landmark argued in its brief that the President’s use of the Constitution’s “recess appointments” clause violated the restrictions placed by the Constitution on that power. The Court adopted Landmark Legal Foundation’s argument in full.

What I believe I am watching and witnessing first hand is what I call the reawakening of Enlightenment. This is a cultural conservative movement and the moderates will need to join us or step aside! Levin has found a way to make the philosophers from the age of reason and enlightenment cool to a whole new generation. Mr. Levin never gets bogged down in the daily nonsense. If you are looking to avoid gossip on Lance Armstrong’s lies or Manti Teo’s imaginary girlfriend, his show will be one of the only places to find relief from this garbage. In the days of Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and what Rush Limbaugh calls the low information voter, Levin has found a way to make the Second Treatise cool to teenagers and upcoming twenty -something hipsters. While Katy Perry sings about her breakups and Beyonce is lip syncing, an underground movement is brewing of unexpected intellectuals learning to fall in love with Bastiat, Alexis de Tocqueville and Montesquieu. A patriotic passion for our framers and the Constitution is lighting up all over this great land of ours. Levin awakens the sleeping masses one by one as people begin to see these philosophers in a whole new light and finally see their impact and influence on our founding fathers. Slowly, I see people undergoing this new affinity with our Constitution and its drafters. Now that we feel this cloud of tyranny, the realization occurs that this freedom we have taken for granted is now slipping away, but this army of citizens can now relate to the framers more than ever before. This is the rebirth of the love of liberty and Levin is leading the charge. He is our conservative pugnacious pit bull, our General Patton, our warrior William Wallace guiding and directing our fight to save the USA.

Mark Levin served in the Justice Department under the wonderful Ed Meese during the Reagan administration. The Reagan spirit is still alive in Levin and in all of us as well. Ronald Reagan once said “You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on Earth, or we will sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.” Mark Levin reminds us every night that we the people can preserve the civil society and reestablish the Constitution. We will not be the generation to lose liberty. Freedom will not die on our watch! We will fight to pass this torch to our children. This fight will be long and arduous but we shall overcome. Together all of us in his infantry, Levin’s beloved audience, will put Obama, the masterminds and the statists on the ash heap of history.

I absolutely concur 100% with your stated post, and with everything “Queen of Liberty” said in this truly articulate, awe inspiring article about the great one, Mr. Mark Levin- ie; our George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry of today !!

I do not go a day without listening to him, as he has truly keep my spirits up, and my hope alive, of and for We the People, to reawaken, retake, and to restore America back to a U.S. Constitutional Republic, and to what President Ronald Reagan said America is- the Shining City on a Hill of Hope, Freedom, and Liberty once again.

  7. Ron Johnson's avatar Ron Johnson says:

True, every word is true alas Mark Levin’s most devious and ruthless enemy is not the Socialists/democrats, his enemy is the GOP. I am fasinated at the way the socialists are dedicated and totally engaged in their agenda for america which is leading the country to destruction, but they win. The GOP states that they are equally dedicated to their agenda and are equally engaged but they lose….someone is lying and its the losers I believe. Only one party states their beliefs and then goes on to yield and backbite their supporters in public, and its not the socialists. The GOP will continue to lose as they fold up like a cheap suit on every issue and……ahem….evolve on the major social issues.

By next election cycle the GOP will be pro-redistribution of wealth, pro-amnesty and many others I believe just to hold on desperately to their shrinking power. I have not left them as Reagan stated, “They left me”..I will advance the agenda of the Constitution Party and am sorely disappointed that many great conservatives like Gingrich and Palin have not left the sinking ship. Forget the rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys because they have already proven to put party over people and constitution and are lacking in signs of repenting from this position. Still listening to Levin though and hoping…

    • Good point! Thanks for your comment. I’m sick of Republicans constantly attacking Mr. Levin and all of us as well. I’m sick of people like Boehner attacking Teaparty members. However, if we couldn’t win WITH the moderates it would be even harder without them. Conservatives need to take the party back and show them where they are going wrong. We also need to get the base motivated. So many conservatives didn’t vote in 2012 because they were sick of the GOP constantly running moderates like McCain and Romney that fail. The two moderate Bush administrations also turned Independents and other people off to the Republican Party. The message of liberty works! Reagan proved that! It’s a message for all people and all time. Even Obama campaigns as a Reagan or a Lincoln, our guys. Then he goes and governs like an FDR or a Wilson. If those policies worked why not campaign as one of them. It’s dishonest. We need to get people out there who can deliver our message better. I think Jim DeMint being at The Heritage Foundation will go a long way to marketing constitutional principles. Our message of individual liberty, personal property rights and free markets trumps the progressive message every time but people have to actually HEAR it.

      • Disagree respectfully, the GOP is dying a slow death and by next election cycle they will show themselves to be fully secular/godless proposing the same pro-redistribution of wealth, pro amnesty, pro homosexual, anti military and the rest just to hold onto their weaken grip in the political system, they will lose more constitutional americans and christians who will switch to other parties or just stay at home..I can not stay with a party who name doesnt fit and the last thing they care about is the Republic..This amnesty bill is the same that Reagan signed when he was in office, they took the amnesty but the democrats never had any intention of funding a secure border that was the other half of the bill and in ten years there will be 10 million more illegals in the country but the republicans will comply. The socialist atheists in the country have representation with their taxation but the conservatives who love this country do not..This last election cycle was eye opening and whats happening with Karl Rove…mouthpiece for the new GOP says alot..Im done!

This is an awesome piece. You captured perfectly the feeling we all have when we read or listen to Mark – that there is an underlying purpose to our country and that we have abandoned our founding principles and must reclaim them by being excited and knowledgeable about our founding. Thanks so much for this inspiring piece!

  9. Great article!

  10. Excellent article!! I have Levin on my fb page but now, thanks to you, I will look up the info. you talk about. I do like him when he covers for Rush Limbaugh, as a matter of fact, that’s when I first heard of him and on Hannity. Keep up the good writing and the exemplary example you are setting for your peers!!

Thanks for articulating my thoughts perfectly. Mark Levin is a dynamo, the MAN for our age!

  12. I actually just pulled out Liberty and Tyranny to re-read it and the first chapter is a direct rebuttal of Obama’s inauguration speech! Although he comes off a bit gruff on his radio show (mainly to libs…he has no patience for ignorance!!) he has a huge heart. Which is evident like you mentioned in Rescuing Sprite…such a beautiful book about his dogs Sprite and Pepsi (and my first intro to Mark Levin). I love him too!! I listen to a podcast of his show daily and learn so much from him.

  13. Excellent!!! That says how I feel to a T.

    Amen.

  15. Agree 100%. There is an intellectual revolution brewing. In the end Mark Levin may be one of the most influential figures to never hold office. Its not so much that his voice is heard by everyone in the country, Its just that the right people are listening to him. The future movers and shakers that are now in their teens and twenties. Reminds of the old films of Goldwater rallies in the 1960’s. It was all young people who loved freedom.

    • I heard that during the Revolution the military actually on active duty fighting the King’s army was around 3%. You see many of those T-shirts now at Tea Party rallies. I will never underestimate the power of one person or a small group of people to change the world. Reagan’s speech for Goldwater is beautiful. Have you read The Conscience of A Conservative? That was one of my favorites before Liberty And Tyranny was released and replaced it. ;-D

  16. Barbara Dumas's avatar Barbara Dumas says:

Well said, and you’re young and beautiful and ARTICULATE—so encouraging to this older lady who’s worried about her country’s and her someday-grandkids’ future…Thank you! I will be praying for you and yours.

  17. Excellent. Spot on.

  18. I’m sharing this article with all my Facebook friends in the hopes that Mark can help open their eyes to the massive damage being wreaked by our government, and inspire them to become more aware and active. Ignorance and apathy are two of our greatest enemies, not just the “other side”. Thanks for the article which I hope will serve to expand Mark’s listenership, and in turn, our conservative army.

    • Thanks for your nice comment. Our local teaparty started a free library with conservative books. Members donate books and every month people can check them out, read them, bring them back the next time and so on. I donated all of Mark Levin’s books and I try to promote his radio show to everybody I know. I agree with you. The Mark Levin show is one of the best tools we have to promote the principles of liberty.

  19. You are right on. You might like my blog as well. I listen to Mark all the time. Check out Rush as well.

  20. I enjoy listening to Mark Levin from time to time, yet I can’t stomach the amount of commercial advertisement he has on his program. He gives a statement for oh, maybe a minute, then it seems like there’s 5 minutes of ads, How much freakin money does he need? seems greedy, and that loses audience and dilutes his message.

  21. You expressed so eloquently what we, his beloved audience, feel about the “Great One” He is our dear friend, though we have never actually met, Not only does he eduate us, he inspires us and keeps our hope alive that we can someday get our America back. We love you Mark..

  22. Bravo! Love the “Great One”. You did him proud with this. Thank you!

  23. I truly hope you are right. It’s going to fall on the younger generation to clean up the mess at this point, but I worry that too many have become drones via the systems in place (education, pop culture, etc). So many do not care about any of this. They are beings of pure political emotion, rather than reason, thought, and logic. Like a child who throws a tantrum when told “no” by their parents… Excepting that they never grow up.

I also worry about the weight being hoisted on the shoulders of the productive in the guise of fairness and equality. It’s truly backbreaking, and becoming worse. Levin addresses much of this in terms that not many others are willing to talk about, such as breaking down the debt by individual numbers to illustrate how staggering they are on a personal level.

I read Atlas Shrugs maybe 10-12 years ago, and it is the most amazing thing in the world to see so much of what Ayn Rand talked about in that book coming to pass… It’s long, but if you haven’t read it, it’s well worth the read.

Cheers to you for being a free thinking, liberty loving individual.

    • Thank you for reading my blog and for the insightful comment. I too worry about these things. All of us need to double down and work harder now, but we will. Anybody who underestimates the American patriot will be in for a surprise over the next few decades. We will not surrender. I Love Ayn Rand! I study her thoroughly. People who have actually lived through tyranny see the signs sooner and appreciate liberty that much more. Cheers to you too sweetie! Please keep in touch.

  24. Paul Goedecke's avatar Paul Goedecke says:

I totally agree with your sentiments and think that Mark Levin as well as others like him are in the trenches prepping new men and women like us to think constitutionally and to apply those principles at the local, county, state and national levels of government. One constructive criticism though. The Enlightenment was not conservative nor based upon Judeo-Christian principles but rather on the Renaissance and Rationalism which is the forerunner of Progressivism. Coke, Althusius, Locke, Grotius, Montesquieu, Blackstone, Kent and St. George Tucker were men who reasoned from Biblical truth and principles to their application to the legal issues of the day. They were heirs of the Reformation not the Enlightenment. They were the ones who trained our Founders. Dr. John Eidsmoe (one of the other legal scholars and trainers like Levin) has thoroughly researched these points and presents them in his Institutes on the Constitution (http://www.amazon.com/Institute-On-Constitution-Christianity-Syllabus/dp/B004KN238U). His newest work is the huge, “Historical &Theological Foundations of Law” is a new 3 volume set that lays out in detail that the Judeo-Christian philosophy, truths and principles, not Rationalism/Enlightenment principles, are the undergirding foundations of our culture both social and legal. http://www.americanvision.com/htfl Worth the read. Mark Levin agrees with Eidsmoe in his book Liberty and Tyranny chapter 3 “On Faith and the Founding.” Keep up the fight!

    • I will read Eidsmoe. Some of the philosophers I mentioned were from the enlightenment period. It is due to reason that man becomes aware that Natural law is a gift from God. You can’t have true freedom without religious freedom. The Enlightenment influenced classical liberalism which is more like conservatism and libertarianism. (i.e. more freedom, less government, Laissez-faire capitalism, Adam Smith style economics etc.) The opposite which is social liberalism or modern liberalism is more aligned with the progressive movement. According to Arthur Schlesinger Jr., classical liberalism didn’t go out of style until the great depression which ushered in the development of modern libs. “When the growing complexity of industrial conditions required increasing government intervention in order to assure more equal opportunities, the liberal tradition, faithful to the goal rather than to the dogma, altered its view of the state,…there emerged the conception of a social welfare, in which the national government had the express obligation to maintain high levels of employment in the economy, to supervise standards of life and labor to regulate the methods of business competition, and to establish comprehensive patterns of social security.” Arthur Schlesinger Jr. There was a revival of of classical liberalism in the 20th century, led by Milton Friedman and others. The modern day progressive movement is NOT what the American Enlightenment was about. The modern progressive sees the constitution as a charter of negative liberties that does not say what the government can do only what it can’t do. That’s why they want to “fundamentally change” the constitution. By “change” Obama also meant that promoting “community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change.” Our President. The founding fathers expressed opposition to redistribution of wealth. Samuel Adams stated: “The utopian schemes of leveling [redistribution of wealth], and a community of goods, are as visionary and impracticable as those that vest all property in the Crown. [These ideas] are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government, unconstitutional.” James Madison, wrote, “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents” Alexis de Tocqueville warned about the “tyranny of the majority” in a democracy, and advocates of the rights of minorities have warned that the courts needed to protect those rights by reversing efforts by voters to terminate the rights of an unpopular minority. This is part of the Republicanism school of thought and Alexis de Tocqueville is from the school of enlightenment and classic liberalism.

      • Paul Goedecke's avatar Paul Goedecke says:

Question: If reason is the standard by which “man becomes aware that Natural law is a gift from God” then by whose reason are we to go with? Marx certainly did not reason to that conclusion but the exact opposite. Hitler same thing. Obama, same. If that is our standard then there really is no standard to judge others beliefs and actions. Who has the most power then becomes the standard.

I contend that the standard through which men received this knowledge is by the Word of God alone. That it is through revelation from God through the Bible that the legal philosophers came to the principles of liberty. John Locke is thought of as an early Enlightenment thinker. But in reading the original text his arguments come from Scripture not his own reason or scientific reasoning. He even stated that Scripture was to him, “the constant guide of my belief; and I shall always hearken to it, as containing infallible truth relating to things of the highest concernment.” See Mary Elaine Swanson’s book John Locke: Philosopher of American Liberty (http://www.amazon.com/John-Locke-Philosopher-American-Liberty/dp/0983195730/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360012690&sr=1-1&keywords=Mary+Elaine+Swanson%27s+book+John+Locke%3A+Philosopher+of+American+Liberty).

The Enlightenment’s purpose “was to reform society using reason, challenge ideas grounded in tradition and faith, and advance knowledge through the scientific method. It promoted science, skepticism and intellectual interchange and opposed superstition, intolerance and some abuses by church and state.” It challenged Christianity in the early 19th century and produced Unitarianism. It placed man as the standard for life and living rather than God the Creator. The Founders, on the other hand, wrote that it was “self-evident” that unalienable rights to life, liberty and property came from the Creator. This was established for centuries in Christian theology. No reasoning was required to arrive at that proposition for it was “self-evident.” Gary Amos in his book Defending the Declaration (http://www.amazon.com/Defending-Declaration-Christianity-Influenced-Independence/dp/1887456058) states that underlying the Declaration of Independence is a foundation of Biblical principles and Christian influence. The Bible and Christianity — not deism (Unitarianism) and secularism (Rationalism)– were the most important influences on the framers.

In France, however, the Enlightenment took deep root and Voltaire and Rousseau’s enlightenment principles caused the bloody French revolution as it rebelled against Christianity in rebelling against all authority. Ann Coulter’s book, Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America does a great job of revealing this philosophy’s affect upon France and then America (http://www.amazon.com/Demonic-How-Liberal-Endangering-America/dp/0307353494/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360013424&sr=1-3&keywords=ann+coulter). Philosophically, Enlightenment produced rationalism and Deism, which stated that man’s reason through the scientific method alone (since there is no God or He is not providentially involved with the creation) is the standard for life and living. Herbert Titus in His book, “God Man and Law” chapters 1-2, states that Harvard Law School under the influence of the Enlightenment principles, changed the legal philosophy from negative law (government has only those powers which we delegate to them) to a legal positivism which is a return to Roman law where the government can do what it wants to unless the Constitution says it cannot and the people must get “permission” from the government on the other hand to do anything (http://www.amazon.com/God-man-law-biblical-principles/dp/0916888177). I contend that this is really the fruit of the Enlightenment’s principles.

Dr. Gai Ferdon, (another champion of liberty as Mark Levin is) in her work “A Republic If You Can Keep It” is her doctoral thesis from the University of Leicester in Cambridge exposes the true philosophy behind American liberty contrasting it to the Post-Modernist philosophy that is wrecking our legal and social culture (http://www.amazon.com/Republic-You-Can-Keep-Contemporary/dp/0912498765/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360013757&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=Dr.+Gai+Ferdon+in+her+work+%22A+Republic+If+You+Can+Keep+It%2C). She asserts that America’s historic Christian principles of civil and religious liberty are just as relevant to the complex issues presented by the twenty-first century. The goal of the book is to equip readers to contend against postmodern principles which are destructive counterfeits of true Biblical principles by redeploying America’s historic values and principles that framed her liberty. 1) God’s Principle of Individuality-Authentic: Created Personhood and It’s Unique Identity versus Counterfeit: Collectivism and Multiculturalism 2) Christian Principle of Self-Government and Christian Character-Authentic: Individual Authority and Responsibility versus Counterfeit: Government Control and Regulation 3) “Conscience Is the Most Sacred of All Property” or Liberty of Conscience-Authentic: Individual Stewardship of Property versus Counterfeit: The Welfare State’s Redistribution of Property 4) Christian Form of Government and the Principle of Local Self-Government -Authentic: Representative Republic with Limited Civil Government versus Counterfeit: Expanding Centralization of Power 5) Christian Principle of American Political Union-Authentic: Sovereignty of the Nation-State versus Counterfeit: Subjection to International Bodies.

Thus, my thesis is that if we are to restore our Republic, we must restore the biblical foundations upon which our Republic stands. Alexis de Tocqueville, in his work, Democracy in America, stated that America’s greatness was not in her “commodious harbors” or fertile soils, but rather in the “pulpits of America”. I again thank you for your blog and your stand for liberty!

      • The first line of the blog you are posting on says “We lost the election in November because the GOP failed to see the tyranny going on in this country and they gave up on the Judeo-Christian values that this nation was founded on.” Obviously I agree with you that liberty is a gift from God. Were you under the impression that I thought otherwise? I think our founding fathers were people of faith and that very faith is especially evident in The Declaration Of Independence. Jefferson started church at the U.S. capital, which ran for almost 70 years. He attended church at the capital during his eight years. He had the Marine Corp band come play the worship services at the capital church. Franklin encouraged the second Continental Congress to hold regular prayers during the creation of the U.S. Constitution. They had daily lengthy prayer. George Washington said they took three days off and went to church while forming the constitution. 29 of the 56 of delegates at the Continental College held seminary degrees. Dr. Benjamin Rush founded America’s first Bible society and Sunday school movement. Witherspoon was a theology teacher in his day. John Thompson was a hardcore Christian. Thomas Paine the least religious founder even acknowledged God. None of the Founding Fathers were secular. As for your question, I think Marx, Hitler and Obama used their free will to reject God. Atheism and socialism have a tendency to go together. As for me personally, I do see our political fight as a clear cut choice of good versus evil. It’s obvious which choice is the loving choice that will elevate all mankind.

Feel free to come back to talk/post whenever you want. God bless!

I saw that you said that line, “We lost the election in November because the GOP failed to see the tyranny going on in this country and they gave up on the Judeo-Christian values that this nation was founded on.” My contention is, rather, with the assertion that the philosophy of the Enlightenment is the sole source of our liberties when it is historically untrue. I realize that many academics make that assertion but it is not correct. Many refuse to acknowledge that Christianity is the main overwhelming source but it is well documented. I gave sources for you to check out on that point. Again sorry for any miscommunication on my part.

It’s like they are wanting to strip us of our rights and that we should be okay with this. Well, I am fed up! I am fed up with all this mess and them trying to tell us that it is okay for them to take our rights away or to make us go against our religious beliefs. I don’t understand all of this because we are suppose to keep religion and state separate but yet, here we go again.

Mark Levin is my hero. He is like the one that truly understands what it is like to be an American these days. I find it difficult to listen to politics these days because it saddens me the way that the United States has become.

Response to Alexis “What I believe I am watching and witnessing first hand is what I call the reawakening of Enlightenment. An underground movement is brewing of unexpected intellectuals learning to fall in love with Bastiat, Alexis de Tocqueville and Montesquieu.”
I agree. Robert Lefevre spotted such an reawakening of Enlightenment in the 60’s. I hear many people attribute this intellectual counterrevolution to the rise of the internet. It makes sense how it’s come about. The texts are more accessible than they used to be and the opinions of others are shared in this medium in ways never before possible.

In my own social circles, I am finding it hard to find peers who are interested in the constitution and understand what it says. As someone in my thirties, it is disappointing to spend so much time around people who say they are conservative but really, they are socialists. One cannot believe in government funded programs like medicaid or social security and call themselves a libertarian. I really hope we can move even further towards true tenants of liberty as a result of these social influences and their growing popularity. It is one thing to think freedom is “cool” and another to feel the conviction that comes with denying the elderly the “right to free healthcare”. Only without big government can we be free but there is a whole package that comes with it!

I waited for a long time to hear someone say this: “If we go third party, I can see the Democrats winning elections for a generation. Given the radicalized character of that party, that would seal our fate, and the fate of our children and grandchildren to, as Reagan put it, 1000 years of darkness. The day may come, perhaps soon, when abandoning the GOP for a new party is the best way to deal with events and stop the rise of tyranny.”
However, an action plan would be a nice road map for me. What I have trouble with here is the idea that conservatives and republicans are different. I believe that this is the fundamental obstacle because positioning a third party properly will mean moving republicans to that party! Do not alienate the people you want to fight with! I like what he says but there are facets of his speech that turn conservatives away because of the language he’s choosing to use.

  41. Taylor Skimmer's avatar Taylor Skimmer says:

I agree that it is foolish to believe that the people who brought us into this crisis are the ones who can solve our problems. Take Poland, Russia or Germany for example; communist supporters turned coat and became capitalist overnight. Since Republicans in Mark’s words are old, tired and almost decrepit I think it follows that the next generation is really going to have the pressure on to move things forward. Old white males aren’t really appealing to the general population of Americans, let’s face it. Hello! Obama and his family appeal to so many people simply because of their appearance.

Great post! I totally agree. I found this article on google+, glad to hear the word is spreading!!

  43. “a rendezvous with destiny”, couldn’t agree more! we just have to stick to our morals, and keep up the fight.

  44. You just gotta love Mark Levin’s quote about destroying tyranny. It really blows my mind that anyone would think more government somehow helps us more than it just helps them. And this habit of blending into the middle-ground is dangerous, in my opinion. People – and especially politicians – need to stand for what’s right and what they believe in.

  45. Man, I surely hope so. That rendezvous with destiny seems a long time coming. Every day I hope someone with some sense will step up like these here and really take a lead in this country – toward where we have to go if we want to be great and free again.

  46. I love Mark Levin and I love your blog. We need more people speaking up and getting the word out online about where the country should be going! I have to say moderate republicans tick me off. Grow a backbone and go for what is right, not what is easy.

    • Thanks for the comment Debbi. I’m glad you like the blog and that you listen to Mr. Levin! He says we need to be Paulette Reveres. I agree with you about most of the GOP being spineless. We need to stay on top of them. Much love! Bless you!

I was reading an article this past week about Landmark and the work they do protecting the Constitution and what this country really is all about. You can’t really say a bad thing about Mark Levin. He’s the voice we need to be listening to.

  48. I sent the author of this piece an email through the site. Please check for it. It’s long but you need to learn the truth about Mark Levin, a few of his friends, and what transpires behind the scenes. Conor
