Vermont Restaurant Removes Bacon Sign Due to Muslim Opposition

Local Winooski, Vermont restaurant Sneakers Bistro has removed a sign that read, “Yield Sneakers Bacon” citing opposition from a Muslim community member and safety concerns.The sign was put up as part of a city program that allows businesses to post an advertisement in an area where they have helped maintain city flowerbeds. The sign that read “Yield Sneakers Bacon” was removed after a woman, identifying herself as a Muslim, posted in an online community forum, stating she was personally offended by the sign, according to a WPTZ News report. WPTZ wrote that the woman who complained online called the sign “insensitive to those who do not consume pork.”
Saturday morning the restaurant posted to Facebook, “We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety(emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Restaurant owners told WPTZ that they attempted to contact the woman who posted the comment and proactively took the sign down.
A restaurant representative was not immediately available for comment.

This is ridiculous. One Muslim woman is offended by a sign that says bacon. Jews don’t eat pork either but they have never protested about Americans putting signs in front of their restaurants. What is this world coming to? What is THIS country coming to? May she be slathered in bacon grease. Nice for the skin, makes it soft and smells good enough to eat!
How silly. Its HIS business and he should be able to advertise HIS business however he feels he wants to. I don’t hear about Muslims protesting about strips clubs where women are taking off their clothes. That is against their Q’uran as well. But put a sign about bacon and ONE woman complains. The owner removes it so there is no controversy. He says keep the politics out of his restaurant. But the bacon is still available inside. MOST restaurants serve bacon in various ways. Muslims need to get over it or GET OUT. I prefer the latter.

Well, you don’t see anyone demand that its unfair for a senior discount? And each restaurant has different ages as to what defines their senior discount! What a crock of you know what. That business has the right to do whatever it wants to do regardless if it offends someone. I highly doubt that woman would have ever been a patron in the first place. Why didn’t she try to bring in the bulletin from her mosque? But no, she runs screaming like a fire engine and the rest of us are called anything from racist to infidel! You are SO right, Alexis, today’s America is hardly recognizable anymore and its only going to get worse. That’s what scares me for my grands. 😦

This is to get us all to learn to just bow down, give in, do not resist, because worse is coming. This is what scares me. Not that this one restaurant took down their sign but this type of stuff is happening all over America and people are complying rather than risking a law suit and losing all they have. And that the intended goal. Be compliant. You don’t have to like it but you must do it. You and your Constitution will mean nothing in a few short years, at least this is how I see it and it scare the you know what out of me. Alexis, you mentioned the victim mentality… it is pervasive throughout this country and it sees no color, no income, no blessings in ones life.
We have our own Americans training with ISIS! Europeans are training with ISIS. They can come and go without any problems. The border is wide open for more than Central Americans to come in. POTUS knows this. He is in alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood and aligned the U.S. with them as well! He sent Hamas millions of dollars! Wrong side POTUS! He is so narcissistic that all I can think of is he is Pinky and Holder is The Brain. I cannot make heads or tails out of what they are doing but my kids used to watch a cartoon Pinky and the Brain and all he wanted to do was RULE THE WORLD! I think that’s a pretty good assessment of the two, don’t you?
The world is upside down. The restaurant owners should not have bowed down to the wishes of this woman who was ‘offended’ by a sign, of all things. Vermont is a strange place (no offense to anyone who lives there 😉 )
By the way, did the New York City Council ever decide to give in to the demands of the Muslim community that the city’s public schools provide halal meal options?
