Via NewsMiner and Associated Press JUNEAU, Alaska - A proposal urging a convention of the states to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution has advanced from the House Finance Committee. HJR22 would place Alaska on record as urging Congress to call a convention of the states to propose constitutional amendments that "impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office of federal government officials."
