In today’s popular vernacular, the left is often referred to as liberals, but a classical liberal would hold the views of a modern day conservative or libertarian. Political nomenclature is often confused or intentionally distorted. Ronald Reagan use to use the phrase “statist” in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s to describe someone with socialistic views. An example is shown below:
“One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project, most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.” Reagan From the 1961 LP album Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine (he is speaking of Truman’s national health insurance proposal as evidence of the American people’s rejection of socialized medicine)
The word fell out of favor for a while, however, the terms “statism” and “statist” have entered the political lexicon again over the past few years. Buck Sexton, Mark Levin, Steve Forbes and others have brought these terms back in vogue and it couldn’t be a more perfect time for everyone to start using this definition again. Listen to Buck Sexton’s definition in the audio below.

Great find! Great audio! Great lead-in! Great post! Thanks Alexis! Statists are who they are! Statism is what they believe! We must defeat them! We must not surrender to them at any turn! We need a few more great Statesmen, pardon the seeming pun. Lol.
It’s common sense if you think about it there is no way statism can work, at least not with our US Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Those are the fighting documents that should preface every argument the statist’s make! If they are successful in rewriting our Constitution and Bill of Rights, then this country will seize to be!
Excellent job friend- thank you!!
Hi Lewis! You sound very fired up! That’s what I like to hear! They are already trying to rewrite our founding documents and “rewrite our history” as our lovely First Lady exclaims. It will be a hard fight but we will never surrender. Thanks for all the wonderful comments you leave me. Sorry I’m often extremely late responding. 🙂 Take Care sweetie!
