Thank you to TeaParty members: Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio for taking a stand for our Constitution.

I can’t tell you how angry I still am today. I e-mailed both of my senators urging them to support the filibuster earlier this week. Of course, I knew Senator Heitkamp would vote with the democrats, her response to me was the usual leftist blather that I expected. Senator Hoeven’s response was, in part (with only the salutation excluded) this:
“Thank you for contacting me regarding the current debate on gun violence in America. I appreciate having the benefit of your views and welcome the opportunity to respond.
First and foremost, please be assured that as a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, I am committed to protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners in the United States. On April 11, 2013, the Senate conducted a vote to bring legislation on gun violence before the full Senate so it can be debated and discussed. In fact, the NRA supported and encouraged a yes vote on the measure which was just a vote to move forward to debate and discussion.
I do not support the Reid bill or the Manchin -Toomey bill and do not intend to vote for them.
I am confident that by working together, we can find solutions to reduce violence and make our nation safer for all, without infringing on the Second Amendment or other rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Again thank you for taking the time to contact me. If you have further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (202) 224-2551”
Sadly, Senator Hoeven is a RINO. He will continue to vote lockstep with McCain, Graham, et al. How I wish we had a Senator Cruz, Lee or Paul representing my state.
Wow, great comment! It seems like no matter where someone lives all we ever hear from people is how their representatives don’t represent their principles. We are all living under this frustration and cloud of tyranny. We need to get a “Cruz, Lee, Paul-type” in every state. Do you have a blog? If so, send me a link. Thank you for all of your insightful thoughts.
Alexis,
Sorry for the late response – I didn’t see your comment earlier.
No, I don’t have a blog. I may someday do that but for the time being, I stay up late alot of evenings on the computer going from site to site, with my dog sleeping at my feet. He stays there I think, just to remind me that we do have to go outside and back in the house to bed at some point!
God bless you.
Aw, give your dog a pet and a hug from me. If you ever feel like venting about a certain issue, you are welcome to post essays or articles here or just keep leaving your great comments. I always enjoy hearing what you have to say.
I’m so sad to see both of AZ senators on the list.
I would be shocked if my Senators ever show up on a “good list.” They are a lost cause and Maryland is so blue they are impossible to get rid of, not for lack of trying though. 😉
